Welcome to Wondering.Waves: A Journey of Resilience and Belonging

Hi, we’re the Walkers—Latosha and Matthew. While I (Latosha) founded Wondering.Waves, this space is truly a legacy of our life together: the stories we’ve lived, the places we’ve called home, and the moments—big and small—that have shaped us.

As a military family, our journey has taken us across the country and around the world. We’ve learned that every new city, every hidden gem, and every fleeting moment with friends or family is worth remembering. Some memories are grand adventures, others are quiet dinners at a favorite restaurant or laughter shared with people we may never see again. All of them matter.

Wondering.Waves is where we capture these stories—not just for ourselves, but for anyone searching for connection, inspiration, or a sense of belonging. I’m creating a daily mindfulness-focused blog series alongside community initiatives that share meaningful stories and practical resources. These empower others to navigate change, embrace creativity, and build supportive networks wherever life takes them.

I believe mindfulness can be found in the simplest things—even just taking a walk around the block without your phone can be a mindful moment that grounds you in the present. It’s these small acts of awareness that help us find peace and connection amid life’s constant change.

Creativity and connection have always been my anchors through every move and deployment. Inspired by generations of creative women in my family, I founded Wondering.Waves to nurture resilience and joy for military families, active duty members, and creatives worldwide.

Through volunteer-led fiber arts and craft clubs, engaging workshops, and practical resources, I strive to combat isolation and build supportive networks that uplift and empower. My mission is to help others find joy and connection no matter where life takes them.

Our hope is that Wondering.Waves becomes a living scrapbook—a place to celebrate the real, sometimes messy, always meaningful moments of military and creative life. Whether you’re looking for ideas, encouragement, or simply a reminder that your story matters, we’re glad you’re here to share this journey with us.
